07/14/09 Voodoo Child

We just played a bunch of gigs – make sure to come to some more. We’re playing in Maine soon! Yadda yadda yadda. KC Quilty is really cool. I think the one with the Danelectros is KC and the one with the hot leads is Quilty.

Singles in the works (prototyping phase).

04/22/09 Rockstar Mixxxxxxxxxxxxxxt

Sooooooooooooo…. We, The Big Big Bucks, no longer have any future plans to mix our debut album, Crucial Schmooze. Why? Well, because we totally already finished finishing the mix of the album!

So, that being said, all commas considered, we are already having had made the future plans to master the album (Crucial Schmooze). Doing that will allow the average layman to hear the album without suffering any permanent psycho-acoustic damage. Expect an FCC-approved product to be available in August (of this, the current year, 2009! – how about that?).

But, that’s not all. We, in conjunction with Crown Vista Productions and Ketojo Records (both real companies that exist), will be offering the consumer tidings of overage in the form of two 7" 45rpm vinyl singles. Each will feature a song from the forthcoming album, Crucial Schmooze, on its A side, and a special bonus never-to-have-been-released-in-the-past-yet-or-for-a-while-ever song on its B side. Single number one is to hit the market in June; single number two will appear in July.

Meat and potatoes in August.

I think The Thermals are pretty cool too.

04/10/09 shows, records, all sorts of stuff.

hey dudes,

Been a while. Sort of been neglecting some things while taking care of some other things. First up, keep your eye out for all sorts of Bucks records this summer. The plan right now is to release single number one from the LP on June 5th at TT’s(yes, the LP that we’ve been working on for almost 2 years, we weren’t just making that up). From there we’ll have another single a month later coinciding with a vist/weekend with our friend Bob D. and his band forever. Then, finally, the LP, currently titled Crucial Shmooze will see the light of day. We’re working with a cool new label here in Boston, I won’t say their name yet because in true Bucks fashion we haven’t exactly worked everything out yet, but, it’s on the way. We’re going to be booking a ton of shows, mostly weekend trips, for the summer to celebrate actually having a piece of vinyl to call our own, and finally an East Coast type tour in September, so keep an eye out and let us know if you’ve got a show that you’d like us to come play. We’re always down.

In other news, I went down to SXSW to play drums with our friends Pretty & Nice and made some friends. One of which is a lovely young lady named Madalyn who DJ’s for break thru radio. I gave her a Bucks cd and she was nice enough to play some tracks on her last show, so go check it out, she played a new Thermals song too and I finally decided that I do kind of dig that band.

if you read all of that, well, you must be one of our friends!

12/31/08 Snappy New Year

We’re currently getting snow-bombed. Also, my car done broke. This is all keeping us in-state and out of fun’s way. Sorry, everyone.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us in Portland, Boston and NYC this past weekend. We had a great time playing and watching and hanging out. We met some friendly people as well – even in New York.

After the busy weekend, it was nice to loaf around yesterday and today. I’ve playing some sweet sweet nintendo synth and having a great time. I watched some funny TV too.

Don’t forget to say “rabbit rabbit” after the ball drops. Good luck, everyone!

12/16/08 Thanks Guys!

We did some more recording this weekend. It was fun, we got a bunch done. Also, the Mass Market was pretty nice. I didn’t get a chance to see Bonezone because of said recording :( I got a cool print of a creepy little girl eating a can of chili.
